What is a perfect square?
Simply put, a perfect square is created by multiplying a whole number by itself. Consequently, when you take the square root of the perfect square, you get your original number.
For example, 16 is a perfect square because √16 = 4, and 4 is a whole number.
20 is not a perfect square because √20 is approximately 4.47, which is not a whole number.
What is a whole number?
Whole numbers do not include fractions or decimals. They are like natural numbers, but include zero.
What is a natural number?!
Natural numbers are the ordinary counting numbers (except 0). They start with 1, continue with 2, 3, 4, 5, and go to infinity. Like whole numbers, natural numbers do not include any fractions or decimals.
